CM 201-U Launches Strategic Planning

The Crete-Monee School District 201-U is embarking on a strategic planning process to outline a path to sustainability and growth for the district in the coming years.

The process will be driven by the Community Strategic Planning Workgroup, which will meet approximately 4-5 times over the next several months. Members will focus on identifying areas of growth and strength, student performance and progress, educator quality, community engagement, and facilities and operations as they conduct their work.

“Our schools and the students we serve are a source of immense pride within our community,” said Dr. Kara Coglianese, Superintendent. “As we take part in this important planning effort, we are uniting teachers and staff, families, administrators, board members, and community members. We are also including student voices to identify the most effective strategies for meeting our students’ needs and positioning our district for lasting success. We are eager to assemble a diverse group of community members to lead this process.”

The strategic planning process will provide an opportunity for collective engagement around the district’s core purpose while providing intention and direction for continuous improvement. The plan will guide decision making, set specific actions for progress, and enable the district to monitor, evaluate, and adapt to reach its goals.

As a next step, the district is inviting and identifying an inclusive group of community members to take part in the workgroup. The first meeting will take place on Thursday, February 22. Those interested in participating can complete the form at the following link by Friday, February 9th: https://forms.gle/HJja8KwHTVFVFmLUA

Below is a list of the planned meeting dates:

  • Thursday, February 22, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 20, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 17, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 15, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

To ensure the workgroup’s effectiveness, the district will assess its size based on received expressions of interest. A thorough review of interested participants will result in a group reflecting diverse perspectives and expertise within the community.

The Crete-Monee School District 201-U expresses gratitude for serving a community committed to its students' future. Opportunities for participation in the strategic planning process will be extended to the entire school community through various feedback avenues, starting with a brief survey accessible at the following link: cm201ustrategicplan.org
