PBIS

Talala Elementary uses a school-wide matrix to communicate our PBIS behavior expectations to students.  The expectations listed on the matrix for the common areas are being constantly reviewed and practiced by the students and their teachers.

Classrooms also have circle time each day.  During this time, the teacher might review behavior expectations, build relationships within the classroom, teach social skills, address any classroom issues that might arise.

Rewards for following school and classroom expectations include Tiger Tickets (individual reward) and Paw Praise (classroom reward).  Students use their Tiger Tickets to purchase items from the Paw Post at various times throughout the year.  Classrooms receive rewards such as popsicles and extra recess for earning Paw Praise.

For the 2020-2021 school year, Tiger Tickets will be replaced with Class Dojo points.

Students will be using Zones of Regulation in the classroom.  Zones of Regulation will help the students recognize how they are feeling and learn how to regulate their own behavior.
