PBIS

Talala Elementary uses a school-wide matrix to communicate our PBIS behavior expectations to students.  The expectations listed on the matrix for the common areas are being constantly reviewed and practiced by the students and their teachers.

Classrooms also have an SEL (social emotional learning) time each day.  During this time, the teacher might review behavior expectations, build relationships within the classroom, teach social skills, or address any classroom issues that might arise.

Rewards for following school and classroom expectations include Dojo Points (individual reward) and Paw Praise (classroom reward).  Students use their Dojo Points to purchase items from the Paw Post at various times throughout the year.  Classrooms receive rewards such as popsicles and extra recess for earning Paw Praise.
